AC snail centrifugal is a kind of driven fluid machinery, which depends on the input mechanical energy to increase the gas pressure and discharge gas. AC snail centrifugal is widely used in the ventilation, dust removal and cooling of factories, mines, tunnels, cooling towers, vehicles, ships and buildings; the ventilation and induced draft of boilers and industrial furnaces; the cooling and ventilation of air conditioning equipment and household electrical equipment; the drying and selection of grains; the air source of wind tunnel and the inflation and propulsion of hovercraft.

AC snail centrifugal is based on the principle of converting kinetic energy into potential energy. It uses the high-speed rotating impeller to accelerate the gas, then decelerate and change the flow direction to convert kinetic energy into potential energy (pressure). In the single-stage AC snail centrifugal, the gas enters the impeller from the axial direction, changes into the radial direction when passing through the impeller, and then enters the diffuser. In the diffuser, the gas changes the flow direction and the cross-sectional area of the pipe increases, which makes the gas flow decelerate. This decelerating effect converts kinetic energy into pressure energy. The pressure increase mainly occurs in the impeller, followed by the diffusion process. In the multistage AC snail centrifugal, a reflux device is used to make the air flow into the next impeller to produce higher pressure.

The working principle of AC snail centrifugal is basically the same as that of turbine compressor, both of which are due to the low gas flow rate and little pressure change. Generally, it is not necessary to consider the change of gas specific volume, that is, the gas is treated as an incompressible fluid.

AC snail centrifugal can be made into right-handed and left-handed forms. From the side of the motor: the impeller rotates clockwise, which is called the right rotating fan; the impeller rotates counterclockwise, which is called the left rotating fan.

The centrifugal fan is composed of casing, main shaft, impeller, bearing transmission mechanism and motor. Shell: made of steel plate, solid and reliable, can be divided into integral and semi open, semi open for easy maintenance. Impeller: composed of blade, curved front plate and flat back plate. Rotor: static balance and dynamic balance should be done to ensure smooth rotation and good performance. Transmission part: it consists of main shaft, bearing box, rolling bearing and pulley (or coupling).

AC snail centrifugal is a kind of device with variable flow and constant pressure. When the rotational speed is constant, the theoretical pressure flow curve of AC snail centrifugal should be a straight line. Due to the internal loss, the actual characteristic curve is curved. The pressure produced in AC snail centrifugal is greatly affected by the change of inlet temperature or density. For a given air intake, the pressure produced by the highest air intake temperature (the lowest air density) is the lowest. For a given pressure and flow characteristic curve, there is a power and flow characteristic curve. When the blower is running at constant speed, for a given flow, the required power increases with the decrease of air intake temperature.
